卦沟村的传说

上古时候，黄河南岸（今孟津县朝阳镇至会盟镇一带），方圆七里流淌着雷河、孟河、位河等八条河，是人们繁衍生息之地。那时，我们的祖先还不会耕田种地，全靠吃树上的野果过日子，每到冬季和春季青黄不接的时令，人们只有勒紧肚皮熬日月了。

自伏羲来到此地，教会了人们结网捕鱼，捕捉野兽，并教人们制造农具，开田种粮，因而人们四季有食，安安稳稳过起了生活。后来，伏羲降服了黄河中的一只神兽，并把神兽拴了起来，起名叫“龙马”。传说伏羲经过六十四天研究，根据龙马身上的毛纹悟画出了八卦。

为了纪念广施恩德的伏羲和献图的龙马，后来的人们就在黄河岸边修建了龙马负图寺，把当年伏羲拴龙马画八卦的高台叫做八卦台，并把附近的村子叫做“卦沟村”。

In winters and springs, when the green and yellow seasons did not meet, people had to tighten their bellies and endure the hard days. Since Fuxi came here, he as taught people to fish in nets, catch wild animals, even make farm tools and cultivate fields to farm. Thus people could have food all the year round and live a stable life. Later Fuxi domesticated a divine beast in the Yellow River, tied it up and named it"Dragon Horse". It is said after 64 days of research, Fuxi drew eight diagrams based on the fur pattern on the dragon horse. To commemorate generous Fuxi and the dragon horse, people built the Dragon Horse Temple on the bank of the Yellow River, named the high platform"the Eight Diagrams Terrace" where Fuxi tied the dragon horse and drew the eight diagrams, and the nearby village "Guagou village"(diagram).
