高装（孙店高装）始于清光绪年间，1880年从南召县白土岗传入。解放后，经过改良，使其逐渐发展成为人们喜闻乐见的民间舞蹈。

孙店高装利用力学原理，巧妙构思，使人物、动物、植物、以及泥塑、绘画等，科学架构，浑然一体，是融独特造型与简洁表演为一体的一种民间舞蹈。此艺术特征唯孙店高装之独有，也是孙店高装的历史价值与文化价值之所在。以寓教于乐的形式弘扬社会公德，倡导文明新风，潜移默化地培养公民的高尚情操，树立良好的道德风尚，创造安定和谐的社会环境。

目前，演习孙店高装的老艺人均年事已高，青年人又着重于发展经济，高装艺术的传承后继乏人。因此，对高装艺术的抢救、保护、迫在眉睫。

Gaozhuang Dance, orinagating in Baitugang Village of Nanzhao County during Qing Dynasty(1875 AD-1908 AD), was introduced to Sundian Village in 1880. After the founding of the People s Republic of China(1949 AD), it had been adapted into a kind of folk dance. This lance, which merges with unique style and simple performance, takes advantage of mechanics principles and ingenious ideas to show a scientific construction which includes figures,animals, plants, clay sculptures, paintings and so on. This kind of artistic characteristic only can be enjoyed in High Stage Drama in Sundian Village and that is also the historical and cultural value of it. This dance promotes the upgrading of social morality and advocates a new style of civilization, which subtly cultivates the noble sentiments of citizens, establishes a good moral style, and creates a stable and harmonious social environment. In the current, as the performers of this dance all get on in years while the young attach importance to the economic development, there are fewer people to inherit this dance. Thus it' s urgent to protect the art of Gaozhuang Dance in Sundian Village.
