解放前,孟津县横水村因南临洛阳、西临新安、北临黄河济源,为当时物资集散地、通商重镇,商贾云集,景象繁荣。横水卤肉在1837年第一代传人王天申门前开业,经多年经营,因色、香、味正,好吃不贵而小有名气。解放后,横水卤肉由四代传人发扬光大,特别传至五代王瑞莲,门内传教、苦心钻研,在祖传工艺基础上,科学调制配方,改革卤制技术,使卤肉色、香、味正,入口爽滑,肥而不腻,醇香可口,成为洛阳名吃。

Hengshui Village of Mengjin County, bordering Luoyang in the south, Xin' an in the west and Jiyuan in the north, is an important trading town before the founding of People's Republic of China. The first-generation successors of Wang Tianshen started business in 1837 for cooking Hengshui Ruilian Stewed meat, a cuisine famous for its aroma, deliciousness and inexpensiveness. Approved by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce as the first of this field, "Hengshui Ruilian "was registered trademark in 2002. Hengshui Ruilian marinated meat has become a name card of Mengjin County and Luoyang City.
