   木偶剧社处于汝阳县陶营乡，这里东接平顶山汝州市，西连伊川、嵩县，南靠汝阳县城，北与蔡店乡相通，交通便利，物流繁荣，群众文化生活相对丰富。在这里木偶戏虽是演员八、九个、扦子不足三十挂的“小玩艺”，在这方圆数百里却独一无二。她表演形式新颖别致、技术性强，因而颇受群众、特别受到广大少年儿童和老年人的欢迎。南庄木偶戏在当地方言中称作“肘偶戏”，是我国傀儡戏曲剧种中杖头木偶的一个组成部分。追本溯源她应是清代杖头木偶，遍布晋、陕、豫三省交界处那个兴盛时期的子遗。

  据当地老艺人李龙涛介绍：南庄木偶剧社诞生于十九世纪末，当时的木偶表演同“玩明场”（即戏曲舞台表演）一样，“生、旦、净、末、丑”各个行当分得十分清楚，现在剧社仍保持着这样的行当分工。现今木偶团已发展到15人，省级代表性传承人张春海已83岁，年龄最小的50岁。2014年来先后获得国家专项资金资助，用于传习和记录、建档，使这项濒危的非遗项目传承有序。

The Nanzhuang puppet Show Troupe is located in Taoying Township of Ruyang County. Novel and highly technical, the puppet show here is very popular, especially by children and the elderly. In its local dialect, the puppet show is called"elbow puppet show", and is an integral part of Hangtou Puppetry, a puppet show in which figurines are manipulated by wooden rods. Its origin can be traced backed to junction of Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan provinces in the Qing ynasty. According to Li Longtao, the senior puppet show artist, Nanzhuang Puppet Troupe was founded at the end of the 19th century. At that time, the puppet performance was the same as "Playing Mingchang"(i.e. opera stage performance). The"Sheng, Dan, Jing, Mo, Chou" trades were clearly separated. Now the troupe still maintains such a division of labor. Today, the Puppet Troupe developed to 15 people. Zhang Chunhai, the provincial representative inheritor, is 83 years old, and the youngest is 50 years old. Since 2014, it has successively obtained more than 200,000 yuan of national special funds for teaching, recording and filing, so as to make the inheritage of this endangered intangible cultural heritage in an orderly way.
