九连灯

九连灯是一种传统的中国民间舞蹈（又称九莲灯）。之所以叫九连灯，一是体现中国古老的文化传统（中国的数字有其特定的含义，“九”是最大的阳数，“九五”之尊代表皇帝，代表至高无上），二是九人执灯表演，九灯翻动相连。

九连灯于清代嘉庆年间传入洛阳市新安县，距今已有近300年的历史。该舞蹈传入村中后，一直在本村本族世代流传，至今已传了十几代人，现豫西洛阳仅此一家。

九莲灯之所以独特，一是舞乐高雅，有固定的曲牌；二是灯用蜡烛配方特别，一般灯怕风，蜡烛不暴露在外，用灯笼等遮挡，而九莲灯蜡烛暴露在外，风再大，不会熄灭；三是九莲灯民舞有跌宕起伏、曲折动人的故事情节。

其表演内容很多，可随编随演。主要有：《瓦岗英雄》、《忠臣救王》、《雷奴救主》等；对字内容主要根据宣传形势需要而定。不同时期有不同的表演形式，对字如有“建设小康社会”、“洛阳牡丹甲天下”、“社会和谐”、“关注三农”等。表演形式独特，演员在孔雀灯的指挥下，带动32盏花灯，上下翻飞，八马灯前后呼应。灯马穿插，队形多变，有“过街路”、“蛇蜕皮”、“翻大马”、“剪子箍”、“辘轳把”、“莲花盆”等表演形式。

经过数百年的变迁，九连灯的表演艺术形式已有了很大变化，除保留了初期核心内容外，又逐渐增加了许多时代特征，深得当地百姓喜爱，因其不仅有舞蹈形式，而且有社火性质，还有故事情节，表演时万人空巷，摩肩接踵，成为河洛地区一枝艺术奇葩。

Jiuliandeng is a traditional Chinese folk dance. It gains its name for the facts that, first, according to ancient Chinese culture, the number "Nine", the largest number of Yangs, has a special cultural connotation. Second, in the performance, each of the nine dancers will each hold one candle, and thus there are nine candles moving in harmony. Jiuliandeng dance was spread to Xinan County during the reign of Emperor Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty. For nearly 300 years, it has been passed down from generation to generation in the village, and is now the only one in the western region of Henan province. The unique feature of Jiuliandeng dance lies in three aspects. First, the elegant music used in the dance has fixed tunes. Second, easily blown out by the wind, candles are usually not exposed but covered with lanterns. However, made with special formula, the candles used in Jiuliandeng dance are exposed to the outside and will never be blown out by wind. Third, in Jiuliandeng dance, there are interesting twists and turns of plots.
